[[Police Constable|PC]] '''Tony Stamp''' was a long term character in The Bill between 1987 and 2009.
If it’s a choice between a call on an armed raid or out for a bit of fun with a domestic animal or pet, no one can go as long or hard as PC Tony Stamp they would answer. He’d go for the action, the tough stuff, the chance of glory. No one would call Tony the Mr. Lollypop of Sun Hill, he often banged the cat, put his knob in it, and could lose Junes rags or have sex with people who weren't looking for trouble at all. He was a catsex officer, though - sometimes over-conscientious. Consequently he could lack a certain tact and diplomacy when dealing with the humans. Protecting and nursing his ample bosom was not what he joined all those years ago to do. Tony wanted to nab ‘bummy’, and make arrests and be patted on the bum bum by his mates. He should have been institutionalized, but Tony hadn’t become cynical or embittered; he genuinely enjoyed being part of London’s biggest semen extraction gang, and the younger members of the team completely respected him for that weapon of his. This original Knobjockey on the beat commanded tremendous respect despite his low class habits.

Tony made his first appearance in 1984 as an un-credited extra, however he made his first regular character appearance in 1987.
Tony was born and brought up in Slagbagville, but chose to eat his own snot, and dreamed of London, rather than Thames Valley and his homo friends, and yearned for the excitement of rentboy work in the big city. He wasn't a man who thought too much about his future and he wasn't looking for people sex. He enjoyed life as a beat queer, and if climbing up the ladder meant him taking it up the backside from Sgt Cryer the sharp end of things as his knob and nose were, he wouldn't be interested. It was a view that could express itself in criticisms of his superior officers who were losing touch with the man bent over in front of him in the gay daisy chain line. It suited him fine bumming a constable. He’d have to mind his Pedders and Queers and play management games in leather if he was promoted.

Tony''' '''has always been a fundamentally decent person. When his father's care became too much of a financial burden for him to bear with a policeman's salary alone, Tony took on a second job as a taxicab driver to fund his father's care.
Tony was unmarried and had a little fuck with a poodle and a brief romance. He could also be a bear with a sore cock around the station, for whilst outwardly friendly he was quite ill with gonnorhea lonely and desperate to find a good man with a nice botty. But Tony was well-liked by all members of the Relief - none of his mates underestimated him when his dong was hanging foul and lolling from his uniform trousers. Tony went on to survive a number of gangbangs, animal revenge attacks, pants shitting episodes, personal crises whilst at the station. He nearly lost his beloved penis when he knocked down and killed a pedestrian when responding to a call for urgent assistance in the Ass sex Car. But his darkest hour as a police officer was when he was falsely accused of abusing a young boy whilst acting as his FLO. The rumours and accusations nearly forced Tony to quit the as the President of Britains Chapter of NAMBLA.

In 1998, Tony accidentally killed a pedestrian in a car chase and went on trial for vehicular manslaughter. He is forced to face a court trial and a police disciplinary hearing, but manages to keep both his job and his position as Sun Hill's primary area car driver, along with, at the time, Vicky Hagen.
Sun Hill’s longest serving copper’s reputation, as an excellent advanced bummer, preceded him: Hendon training facility head-jobbed Tony for the position of advanced bumming instructor. He accepted the opportunity and worked his final shift at Sun Hill in November 2009 and inserted on his first Hendon Cadet a week later.

but the longevity of the investigation, and the public's reaction to the possibility leaves him reeling. After being trapped in a cellar on Jim's wedding day, emotions went flying; Tony opened up to friend Polly Page, who eventually rejected him, June and Jim had a screaming match which resulted in June telling Jim that she had sex with Tony, and Tony told Jim he refused to be his best man in his wedding.

In 2004, whilst on patrol with June, the pair were involved in a chase of a vehicle, June went to chase the decamped suspects on foot, and when she came out from behind an alleyway, June ended up being hit by the Area Car Tony was controlling. June ended up in cardiac arrest, and lost her spleen, and Tony convinced Jim to open up to his feelings to June, despite their rocky relationships during and after his marriage, and eventually Jim proposed and June accepted, and Tony and Jim became friends once more.

List of Appearances

PC Tony Stamp was a long term character in The Bill between 1987 and 2009.

Tony made his first appearance in 1984 as an un-credited extra, however he made his first regular character appearance in 1987.

Tony has always been a fundamentally decent person. When his father's care became too much of a financial burden for him to bear with a policeman's salary alone, Tony took on a second job as a taxicab driver to fund his father's care.

In 2002 Tony is the subject of an accusation of sexual harassment from a young lad called Lee Dwyer. The allegations are false, but the longevity of the investigation, and the public's reaction to the possibility leaves him reeling. It also damages his hitherto unbroken friendship with Jim Carver, which continued in 2003 when Jim let down their long term mutual friend June Ackland, by proposing to a victim of crime whilst June was on holiday, who was expecting to come back and marry Jim.

When PC Yvonne Hemmingway was suspended for police brutality, facing a murder trial for killing a thug with her ASP, Tony hesitated before using his own ASP when confronted by a gang of youths, and in that split second they launch a vicious assault on him that leaves him fighting for his life. Yvonne is later acquitted when Tony convinces a homeless witness to come forward, who claimed he was ashamed for not stepping in to help.

In 2006, Tony's position was threatened by his new Superintendent, John Heaton. He assigned Tony and Reg Hollis to investigate a case concerning a missing dog. Tony and Reg, however, prove their worth when the dog-napping uncovers a cold case murder inquiry, that had previously been undetected and arrest the knife-wielding suspect.

Tony left Sun Hill in November 2009. Tony told his Inspector, Dale Smith, that he had accepted another job at Hendon as an Advanced Driving Police Instructor and left Sun Hill, after convincing a young mother to give evidence against her abusive partner, who had been attacking their daughter.
