List of Appearances

Suzanne Ford was a character in The Bill from 1984 until 1992.

Profile[]

Similarly to Tony Stamp, Suzanne made her first appearance in 1984 as an uncredited extra but would later make her first regular character appearance in 1987.

Caring WPC Suzanne Ford was described as 'the ideal WPC'. She considered becoming a nurse before eventually joining the Metropolitan Police and saw her policing role as essentially one of serving the community rather than catching crooks. She was a natural police officer - 'one of the boys' who always seemed to get sent out on raids - but above all a caring woman. Some considered Sue a "bleeding heart" but she once said that "You don't have to be a cynic to be a good copper".

She was got on well with everyone on the relief. Even Frank Burnside described her as a "credit to the force" and that the MET could do with more officers like Sue. She also had a special ability - sign language, as she had a profoundly deaf sister. She used this skill on one occasion when questioning a deaf suspect, who assaulted Jim Carver, in the episode "Watch My Lips".

Ford enjoyed knitting and was seen knitting during a shift in the Custody suite in November 1991. (Balls In The Air)

After 8 years at Sun Hill, Suzanne transferred away in 1992.
