Susan Harding was an IC1 female and resident of Harthill Road in Sun Hill.
In November 1992, Mrs Harding attended the funeral of her husband (who had passed away six days earlier from a heart attack at the age of 42) and was the victim of a house break in at her property while she was out. Among the possessions that were stolen were jewellery originally belonging to her Grandmother, a clock and a mahogany box that her husband had bought for her birthday three weeks earlier.
Mrs Harding felt violated by the break in and told W.D.C. Viv Martella and P.C. Barry Stringer that she wanted to throw out items like her bath towels as a result.
The robbery was committed by Ross Johnson, whose flower business had previously supplied the flowers to Mrs Harding for the funeral. Her mahogany box was later retrieved on a fire that Johnson had started in an attempt to destroy evidence. (Just Send Some Flowers)
