Sam Nixon was an easygoing DI and was well respected by many of the team. Sam was seen as one easy going woman and she was easy to talk to.
Sam’s style was simple - she was law-abiding and always did things to the book but at the same time, would be stern when necessary.
Sam was soon appointed DI alongside DI Neil Manson; it was clear that there were tensions between them. It was suggested that Neil Manson wasn’t too pleased by Sam’s promotion.
Sam was one of them women who would always attract attention from the males, even including one of her Detective Sergeants; Phil Hunter.
Notably, Phil Hunter and DS Stuart Turner, who often squabbled over her, seemed in competition.
Sam ended up sleeping with both of them and at times, brought rows into the office.
Overall, Sam was a fantastic Cop and respected for the job she did. Sam later transferred out of Sun Hill.
Sam was very intelligent when it came to policing. She was calm, composed and always measured when making tough decisions. Sam would usually produce good and more logical solutions to problems that Neil Manson couldn't solve.
