Profile[]

Sam Deeping served at Sun Hill Police Station as an Inspector until from 1983 until 1987. He was first seen in his office and was introduced to the new probationer, P.C. Jim Carver. He welcomed Carver and they shook hands but Deeping told the young probationer to relax at ease and sarcastically said that the relief were an informal bunch. He then looked at Carver's file and told him that he had the makings of a good police officer. Deeping also noticed that Carver intended to stay in uniform and had no ambitions to join C.I.D. to which the probationer explained that he is a firm believer in traditional policing methods. Deeping was surprised by his attitude and taught the same when he was a P.C. himself many years ago. He once again wished Carver the best of luck and welcomed him to Sun Hill once again.

Deeping was a very good friend of Sgt. Jack Wilding ever since the two pounded the beat together. Jack would even call him by his first name which did not bother Sam. The two even had a drink in the Inspector's office. Sam told Jack that he sometimes regretted not staying a sergeant.

Notes[]

  • He was only seen in the pilot 'Woodentop' however was mentioned to be still inspector in 1987. It's unsure how and why he departed Sun Hill, after he was replaced by Brian Kite.
