Margaret Barnes was a cleaner at Sun Hill Police Station in 2005. She befriended DS Ramani De Costa, but Margaret became obsessed with her and started following her, buying a scarf that resembled Ramani's and causing a car crash. Eventually Ramani found out about what was happening and tried to stay away from Margaret, but while trying to escape from her once, they had a scuffle and Margaret fell down the stairs. She later slashed her wrists and stabbed Terry Perkins - Ramani's close friend and colleague - and they both ended up in hospital, where Margaret was deemed unstable.
