Mr Godwin reminds Karen James that she could have been excluded.
Mr Godwin was a headteacher of the Ivy Wallace secondary school in 1998.
In January of that year, he called Sun Hill to request assistance as one of his students, Karen James, was found to be in possession of an army knife in her coat pocket whilst at school. Karen had never been in trouble before and referred to by her teachers as a quiet, pleasant pupil. Mr Godwin believed that the visiting P.C. Tony Stamp and W.P.C. Debbie Keane could have a word and "scare some sense into her".
When Karen tells Mr. Godwin she doesn't want her mother informed of the incident, he sharply reminds her that she could have been excluded for her actions. He then leaves his secretary, Penny Briggs to liaise with the visiting officers. (Girl Power)
