P.C. Loxton and P.C. Quinnan are called to a canal where a familiar vagrant claims to have fished out a DSS inspector. D.I. Johnson and D.C. Skase investigate, and are led to a tricky situation involving the man's wife. Meanwhile, Loxton and Quinnan track down the vagrant when he is splashing his money around.
