The Last Laugh

The Last Laugh is the 357th episode of The Bill.

Three vehicles respond to a reported armed robbery, which turns out to be a hoax call. When P.C. Quinnan tries to arrest the hoax caller, he struggles and the informant is injured, and Insp. Monroe thinks there is a case against Quinnan for assault.

The transport cafe owner takes advantage of Quinnan's observation point.

The owner of a transport cafe comes in to see Monroe, offering information for a price. Monroe sends him away, but Quinnan becomes suspicious about an earthmover parked outside the cafe, and believes it may be stolen. When investigating a noise complaint, P.C. Hollis discovers where the earthmover was resprayed.
