Kiss Chase is the 1411th episode of The Bill.
While P.C. Page is assisting Ruth Watts in filing assault charges against her husband, Ken Watts, P.C. Ashton is having problems with the woman's daughter, 16-year-old Abby Watts, who appears to be infatuated with him. When she finally corners Ashton, she tells him that she's pregnant and that he's the father. Ashton denies the claims, and Sgt. Cryer assumes that the girl is a fantasist, but Ashton eventually confesses to an abuse of trust: he did sleep with the girl, but cannot be the father as they only slept together once and he used protection. Ashton tells the girl that he wants nothing more to do with her. Upset, she makes a complete mess of her testimony in her mother's domestic violence case against her stepfather. While the relief continue to take the mick from Luke regarding his impending "fatherhood," Page and Sgt. Cryer take opposing views regarding the course of action to be taken. It is only after a failed suicide attempt that Page manages to get the truth out of the young girl: she was raped by her stepfather, and he is the father of her unborn child.
Diana Hardcastle guest stars as Ruth Watts in this episode.
