Beech on the Run is the 1620th episode of The Bill , originally aired on 19th August 2001.
Set in Sydney, Australia, the episode follows the disgraced DS Don Beech as he attempts to build a new life for himself with his Vietnamese-Australian girlfriend Frankie, taking part in bank robberies and drugs deals. His new life is brought to an abrupt end when he discovers that Clare Stanton has followed him to Australia and is pursuing him with help from the Australian police. Stanton eventually tracks him to the harbour as he's preparing his escape. As Beech sails away, she opens fire and his boat explodes, seemingly killing him.
