A Touch of Braid is the 734th episode of The Bill
D.I. Johnson's raid on a flat goes wrong when a young boy flees and falls from the third-floor balcony. Ch.Supt. Brownlow has to pick up the pieces.
The making of this episode is covered extensively in the book "The Bill: The First Ten Years" by Hilary Kingsley, from the idea for the story at a writers' meeting on 17 February to its broadcast on 1 July.
Ged Simmons, who plays Mr. Hopkins, would later join the cast as D.I. Cullen, Alex.
