DS Hunter's mum Lynne turns up at the station to lecture him on his responsibilities as a father-to-be. Sgt. Smith seizes an opportunity to meet local villain's wife Louise Larson and continue their dangerous relationship, while Supt. Okaro struggles to make headway with his road safety campaign, until old friend Isaac Collins pulls a few strings at the local council to help get it under way. The case against DC Perkins's brother Ben concludes, but the outcome promises to have a devastating long-term effect on the entire family.
