Episode 253 is 1913th episode of The Bill.
PC Kerry Young goes missing and Sgt Dale Smith is going out of his mind with worry for her safety, following a threat from David Radford and a break in at her home by PC Gabriel Kent, who is determined to stop Kerry from exposing his true identity. Eventually, Kerry is found safe and well at her father's bedside in St Hugh's Hospital. Relieved that she is safe, Smithy dashes to her side and finally declares his undying love for her. Kerry later arrives at the station to tell Inspector Gina Gold about the truth about Gabriel and PC Andrea Dunbar's role as an undercover journalist, but not before she declares her undying love for Smithy. But their happiness is short lived when Gabriel fires a sniper rifle from a nearby building, gunning down Kerry in Smithy's arms.
