Chandler reveals that in the events of the last evening, Inspector Andrew Monroe, DC Paul Riley and PCs Ben Hayward and Di Worrell died due to the explosion. He reveals that Kate, Sam, Des and Polly are at St. Hugh's. Kate is on the critical list, and Sam is in Intensive Care. Polly tells Tony she took an overdose, and he goes to confront June, who also pays her a visit and that she should take leave. As Danny and Duncan go hunting for supremacist Jeff Simpson, who Danny suspects is responsible. He thinks that if he spoke about the beating Simpson sustained at the hands of disgraced ex-DS Vik Singh a few weeks earlier. Kate dies of her injuries, leaving Mickey devestated. He announces at a press conference that Chandler is a "coward" and that the fire was all his fault, due to his handling of the Neo-Nazi march, and Chandler harshly warns Meadows not to make an ally out of Webb, but they conspire to bring down Chandler, as justice for the fire victims and Conway. Cass and Des start a bedside vigil for Sam.
This is the last appearance of Lisa Geoghan (PC Polly Page) before going on maternity leave. She returns in Episode 099.
