Craig Gilmore | Service Record | List of Appearances |
|
Gilmore is recruited to replace his predecessor, Bob Cryer. In many ways he is the exact opposite of his predecessor. Whereas Cryer is modest, experienced and respected, Gilmore has been fast-tracked to promotion, has been a Sergeant for less than a year and is considered by his colleagues to be arrogant. He is the first openly gay Sergeant and police officer in the show's history. He left Sun Hill after receiving a severe beating from a suspect, and having a relationship with PC Luke Ashton, a closeted homosexual, who was married to PC Kerry Young at the time, who was also pregnant with his child.
He was close friends with Inspector Gina Gold, Sergeant June Ackland and ironically, he was close friends with PC Kerry Young, who was married to his crush Luke. He constantly clashed with Sergeant Matt Boyden, who constantly berated him about his sexuality. He was the bitter rival of PC Des Taviner, until a fight with him at the funeral of Terry Knowles.
